Cash Reconciliation

The cash reconciliation module is actually two modules in one.  The till reconciliation part allows the control of each till individually and balances the actual cash with the expected cash in each till.  The cash reconciliation part allows the control of all the cash once it has arrived at the cash office, and records the actual cash in hand on an up-to-the-minute basis.

Cash Reconciliation

The till reconciliation part of the module records all the monies being taken from and given to each till individually, each day.  At the end of the day, the cash sales for each till are recorded, either automatically using Epos tills or manually.  The cash sales are then compared against the actual cash received (with adjustments for credit account receipts and discounts) with any differences being highlighted as an over or under by till.

The cash reconciliation part of the module is designed to reflect the processes that actually happen in the cash office.  The money coming in from the tills is recorded as an uplift, while money being paid out and taken to the bank is recorded as a banking.  All other sources of the cash in hand are similarly recorded.  Therefore the cash in hand balance shown on the computer should always agree exactly with the actual cash amount held at any time.

Cash Reconciliation

Using the module means that the till overs and unders for each till are known daily, a record is available of all the uplifts for each till and there is up-to-date information of the cash in hand.  The module is entirely flexible and can be set up to meet each user’s individual requirements.  Most of all, the module is logical and easy to use.

The “cash” involved can include cash (which may be either a total or broken down by denomination), cheques, credit and debit cards, charge cards, gift vouchers, coupons, concession own cards and vouchers or promotion vouchers.  Cash can be banked or used for other purposes such as petty cash.
