Touchretail customer websites

If you are a bricks-and-mortar retailer still wondering if you should invest in a website presence, the news is that you have actually not yet missed the boat. This is borne out by the fact that two leading fashion retailers – Gap and H&M – have only just gone live with their transactional websites. Whether this delay is due to contractual or technical reasons, these two giants of fashion retailing clearly think that e-commerce investment is still justified.

25% still not online

A report recently released by Martec International has identified that 35 of the UK’s top 142 retailers – that’s around 25%, do not currently have a transactional website. (more…)

A Unique 21st century shopping experience at Serene Order

The leading Midlands-based designer fashion store is turning on its head the myth that traditional bricks and mortar retailing and selling on the internet should be treated as completely separate routes to market.

By combining both sales channels in its newly-opened store, Serene Order is proving that, when used creatively together, they can provide the most powerful in-store shopping experience available anywhere in the world. Touchretail integrated with the Visualsoft VS3 e-commerce platform allow Serene Order to successfully achieve this.

Serene Order

Serene Order

Serene Order is the first UK designer store to offer a fully interactive shopping experience by providing in-store access to the internet and ‘live’ fashion shows on large plasma screens to help its customers view and buy the latest fashion items.

With the launch of its unique Catwalk Click service Serene Order aims to foster even greater loyalty from its customers – which include high profile actors, A-list pop-stars and Premier League footballers – and encourage new clients from further afield to try its cutting-edge approach to fashion retailing.

The award-winning Solihull store is also using the internet and its website for discovering and showcasing new fashion designers which may never have been noticed by major retailers.

Founding director, Nad Ahmed, says Serene Order’s use of internet technologies is playing an increasingly important role in supporting and boosting their designer store’s presence. He says:

“We have brought together the traditional form of in-store shopping and internet to provide our customers with an exciting, technology-enriched shopping experience. We knew that many of our customers shopped online as well as visiting our store and we thought there was no reason why the two channels should be mutually exclusive, so we decided to combine them both in-store with the Catwalk Click service.  I believe it’s a UK first for a UK designer fashion store and it’s proving very popular with our customers.”

“We have also found the internet an ideal medium for finding and showcasing new designers that would previously have found it difficult to get noticed. But, because we buy direct from designers, we are able to showcase new talent we think fits in with our style and which is not available elsewhere.  Our latest ‘finds’ include Antony Morato, Laguna Beach, ENC Emperor’s New Clothes, Hybris and William Rast”

Since then, Edward has progressed the business still further while retaining the family values of quality and service. He has introduced new labels and expanded the selling area across three floors.

The shop recently featured in Architects’ Journal and has won numerous awards for store design and window display competitions.
