The Irish company have an exclusive licence to market, supply and support Touchretail’s set of integrated components covering e-commerce, EPOS, stock control and retail accounting solutions.

The IT Department have expertise in the same retail market sectors that are Touchretail’s speciality, and they have been quick to grasp the functionality and technical advantage of Touchretail’s product set.

Jason Scott, Retail Consultant at The IT Department, comments: ‘We anticipate massive potential throughout Ireland in the development of multi-channel retailing. A relatively small number of Irish retailers have multi-channel businesses, but we see this growing rapidly over the next couple of years.

‘Touchretail’s products are an ideal fit for the requirements of The IT Departments retail customers and prospects, and Touchretail’s experience in implementing totally integrated online multi-channel solutions for a wide range of independent retailers in the UK was a major influence in our choice of retail system to represent in Ireland.’

David Powell adds: ‘Although we have a few well-established customers in Ireland, the distance issue (and travel cost) has always been a challenge to establishing a wider user base in Ireland. We are very excited about the appointment of The IT Department to represent Touchretail’s products throughout Ireland – we very much see The IT Department as ‘Touchretail Ireland.’

The IT Department will also be providing first line support, training, installation, consumables and of course their renowned hardware support throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
