Touchretail have published an online video overview of the Rapidstock inventory software, which is a popular stock control system with fashion and footwear retailers.

We’ve added the video to our Touchretail TV collection of online videos, so that anyone can have a brief tour of the stock control system – even if you have no knowledge of such back office systems. More videos will follow that can be used as training videos for particular aspects of the Rapidstock software. Although Rapidstock is used in many types of non-food retail, its capacity to handle style, colour and size in a concise and easy to enter format make it especially suitable for fashion, sportswear, footwear and other stores that have multiple-aspect products.
Rapidstock integrates with other Touchretail products such as POS software, e-commerce interface module, Advanced Reporting Module and Retail Accounts.

End of Day Till Procedure for Fashion EPOS

As the focus on checking every penny passing through Fashion Retailers’ EPOS tills becomes ever tighter, more fashion retailers are switching to the Detailed End of day Till procedure in Touchretail POS. This enables the cashier to key in all amounts uplifted from the till. Part of the Z-read includes facility to enter the cash in drawer (cash declaration) and so reconcile the actual and calculated closing float.

Web-sales bulk transfers now in Rapidstock

The latest release of Rapidstock includes a facility to bulk-transfer the stock for all website sales. This is particularly useful for businesses that despatch all goods for website sales from a specific branch, which is NOT the website branch. These businesses will typically have the website sales coming in as a separate branch – for easy and instant monitoring of website sales against shop sales, but will hold all stock for website sales at the same branch as the stock for the shop sales. This may be the shop location, or a warehouse location.

Product Pictures On Fashion EPOS Tills in 3 Easy Steps

Picture on Touchretail EPOS Till
We get asked a lot about the best way to put pictures of products onto Touchretail EPOS tills – especially fashion EPOS till systems.
It’s a fairly simple thing to do, and there are 3 steps that you take:
1. Save the picture as the Rapidstock Record Number of the product
2. Copy the picture onto a USB memory stick
3. Upload the picture file onto the EPOS till
Picture size
The most important thing to bear in mind is to re-size the picture to the most suitable size for the EPOS screen, before you save the picture. We would normally recommend a size of around 150 pixels wide, and between 120 and 200 pixels high, depending on the aspect of the image. You can use a larger picture size but it would interfere with the EPOS text display. Smaller image sizes would not be easy to see the detail at the till screen.

Many retailers take their own pictures – especially if they are being taken for their website. Alternatively, some manufacturers do have product catalogues with pictures – especially in the furniture store sector. It is possible to provide an automated solution to pick up pictures from your website and populate the EPOS tills, but this requires development work by your website developer, plus a dedicated import module from Touchretail. Most independent retailers prefer the simple (and no cost) method outlined here.
