Building on the brand’s phenomenal success in China and France, the first Hi Panda UK store has just opened in Kingly Court off Carnaby Street, London W1, complete with Touchretail EPOS system.

Huge success in Asia

The fashion label was created by Chinese-born artist Ji-ji who created three cartoon pandas, ‘Happy’, ‘Evil’, and ‘Wounded’ to use in his artwork. The characters now feature on a range of hooded sweatshirts, T-shirts, jeans and bags as well as the iconic ‘panda statues’. As the first fashion brand from mainland China to arrive in the UK, the company is looking forward to making a name for itself in the heart of the capital. (more…)

Barkers Department Store has completed its EPOS roll-out by the installation of Toshiba ST-A10 EPOS terminals in the recently refurbished 200-seat main store restaurant and the Arcade Coffee Shop.

E-commerce and multi-store integration

The Restaurant and Coffee Shop EPOS tills are integrated into Barkers company-wide system, which includes EPOS tills across all departments of the main store and the Furnishings store, including the Terrace Cafe which also had a complete re-fit and re-design recently. Online integration between EPOS tills, back office reporting and a busy e-commerce website at Barkers is an important aspect of the installation.

Barkers IT Manager and Accountant Robert Baker said:

‘We are delighted with the compact and cost-effective ST-A10s from Toshiba Tec and the speed at which the system was implemented by Touchretail. Our previous tills only kept one months worth of data. Now we can compare sales with the previous years and weeks. The savings we have made both in terms of human error and in sales reporting have been incredible.’

Association of Independent Stores

Barkers are a member of AIS – the Association of Independent Stores, and were keen to work with a company that was already recommended by other AIS member stores. Touchretail supply a combination of Retail Accounts accounting and management reporting, Toshiba EPOS terminals, and Touchretail unit stock control and sales reporting to over 30 AIS member stores throughout the UK and Ireland.

EPOS Review of Aures Elios – Rating 4.5

Friday, June 24th, 2011

Aures Elios EPOS terminal With the introduction of the second edition of the Elios terminal, Aures really do have an EPOS hardware solution that tackles the entry level requirement head on. When we reviewed the original Elios about 18 months ago we had reservations about the fixed screen angle and the operating temperature of the CPU fitted.

However, with version 2 of the Elios, Aures made the screen fully tilting, upgraded the standard memory to 1Gb, and they’ve priced it exactly at the entry level budget most of our smaller independent retailers are working at.

Essentially we think the Elios is a great entry level terminal. (more…)

New Menswear Store Opens with EPOS and Fashion Software

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Woodward Menswear Banstead-windowSurrey-based Menswear retailer Jim Woodward has opened his second store with Touchretail EPOS and Fashion Software. The new menswear store in Banstead offers a similar mix of quality menswear brands as stocked in the original Woodward store in Oxted.

Real time updating

An important feature of Touchretail’s Fashion EPOS and stock control system that was important to Woodward when planning the Banstead store was its ability to update sales and stock in real time across both stores. Jim comments:

‘I particularly liked Touchretail’s online technology that works without us even realizing it. With the new Banstead store opening it’s important to keep on top of our stock at both shops – I’m certain that the stock enquiry at the till point will save hours of telephone calls. It’s great to see the system working well.’

Hosted System

Touchretail’s back office inventory has been set up as a Hosted Service, providing Jim the flexibility to access the system or to print reports from either store, or from elsewhere if he is out buying. Toshiba B10 EPOS hardware has been installed at each shop.
