Pearsons Department Stores, now part of the Morleys Stores Group, have recently implemented the Retail Accounts accounting and management reporting software from Touchretail.
Pearsons of Enfield has been a famous Department Store since 1903, and along with the more recent store in Bishops Stortford has developed a tradition as a family-friendly place to shop. Morleys Stores group acquired Pearsons in December 2010, at which time Bernard Dreesmann, executive chairman of Morleys, said the acquisition of Pearsons was a “perfect strategic and geographical fit” and reassured staff and customers that the department store would retain its name and traditional character. The two Pearsons stores bring the Morleys Stores Group to a total of 8 Department Stores in and around London.
Morleys Stores were keen to implement at Pearsons the same accounting and management reporting software that is used throughout the rest of the group. Touchretail have successfully incorporated both store-level accounting at Pearsons and group-level reporting at the main Morleys Stores system, also implemented and supported by Touchretail.

“The transition of Pearson’s back office procedures from their old Navision system to Retail Accounts has been completed satisfactorily. The reconciliation of daily sales and takings for each till, and the registration and approval of suppliers’ invoices are now fully implemented, bringing them in to line with the Morleys’ standard group procedures. Camp Hopson, one of the country’s leading independent department stores, has commenced the upgrade of its EPOS system to touch screen technology and real-time updating to back office by the installation of 5 Touchretail EPOS terminals.

Barkers Department Store
After a 6-months trial of Touchretail’s POS software in their Furnishing Store, Barkers of Northallerton have implemented Touchretail’s POS solution with integrated EFT at their Department Store.
The store’s legacy EPOS tills were replaced with 23 Toshiba ST-A10 terminals on Sunday 1st August, enabling all departments to trade on the new system as of 9am Monday morning. The ability to undertake a major system change over a weekend and without missing a single transaction was key to Touchretail’s implementation plan. (more…)
