The FRS-POS and X-Margin Furniture Software shown by Touchretail was a great success at the Manchester Furniture Exhibition earlier this week. After the stand set-up day on Saturday, and four days of being on the exhibition stand, it’s a lot more exhausting than other forms of promoting the products, but the response proved that there is still a place for exhibitions.

As was demonstrated at the recent FRS-POS User Group Meeting, Touchretail now offer the facility to produce QR Codes as part of the Furniture Retail Software. The QR Codes are produced by the X-Margin component of the Touchretail Furniture System, and introduces the latest advances in marketing and customer interaction to Furniture Retailers.

What are QR Codes?

QR (Quick Response) Codes enable a message or link to be made available through the unit that scans the Code. The scanning unit may be any device that has a QR Code scanning app installed, such as a smart phone. Examples of two QR Code reader apps are i-nigma and beetagg. To install either of these go to www.i-nigma.mobi or www.get.beetagg.com in the browser of your smart phone. And that is the biggest difference between regular barcodes and QR Codes right there – to scan a regular barcode such as you will find on most products in a supermarket you need a specialist barcode reader, but to ‘scan’ a QR Code you take an image of it with the camera on your smart phone.
