The Castle Warehouse was established on the 3rd April 1896 at 11 Old Town, Peebles as a new drapery, dressmaking, mantle and millinery warehouse. As well as clothing and soft-furnishings, the branches now retail furniture, carpets and homewares. As a family business, the fourth generation of Finlaysons are now involved and are looking forward to another 100 years of successful trading.

The Castle warehouse Department list includes:

Cookshop, Rambles Café, Menswear, Childrenswear (including full range of uniforms for local schools), Lingerie, Soft Furnishings, Carpets and Flooring (including free measuring and estimating with guaranteed installation), Furniture and a Removals service.

Touchretail have installed a unit stock control system into the Furniture departments, including ‘back-to-back’ sales and purchase order processing and many other furniture-specific features. The entire business is managed using Touchretail’s Retail Accounts software, including category stock control, full ledgers, management reports and AIS CENPAC clearing house facilities.
