Morleys Stores Group currently operate five department stores in the Greater London area: Elys of Wimbledon, Morleys of Brixton, Bodgers of Ilford, Smith Brothers (Tooting) and James Selby (Holloway). The stores are connected by a VPN (virtual private network). Although each store’s administration is done locally, the head office has overall control for all stores so that the data model is based on central administration with local data entry.

When looking for a new Accounting and Management Reporting system in 2007 Morleys needed a system that would be resilient across the VPN, able to cope with the specific user access rights, allow quick data entry, facilitate imports to and exports from other systems such as EPOS, payroll and bank statements, and produce reliable monthly statistics reports for Board meetings. Not only did Touchretail’s Retail Accounts software meet all these requirements, but Touchretail were able to convert much of the data from the Group’s legacy Unix system to enable a smooth transition of systems within a matter of a few weeks at Morleys Stores Group’s financial year end.
