Hype have opened a dedicated footwear store in the new Trinity Walks development in Wakefield, and have implemented the Touchretail Footwear EPOS system for multi-channel stock control. 

After trading for many years in The Ridings Centre in Wakefield with a store selling mens fashion and footwear, Hype decided to open the specialist footwear store to expand the footwear side of the business. 

Taking a unit in the newly developed Trinity Walks enabled Hype to design the store and stock area from scratch. Unfortunately their first plan for a mezzanine floor for stock was scotched by the landlords, so Hype built a specially racked stockroom at the rear of the store. After a quiet start to trading, pre-Christmas sales picked up well in the new Trinity Walks store, as more of the new units become occupied by quality retailers.

Combining the new footwear store with their busy website was an important requirement for Hype's new inventory system, and Touchretail’s existing expertise in multi-channel stock control, combined with the ability to implement the new system within a tight schedule were important factors in Hype’s selection process. Touchretail were able to install the hosted back office software within days of being awarded the contract. This enabled Rayhaan and his colleagues to create stock records and barcode labels for all the new stock that was arriving for their new footwear store. Installation of the EPOS terminal and staff training were carried out on schedule. Hype are now looking to implement Touchretail wi-fi stock checking technology, and to replace their legacy EPOS system at their store in Wakefield's Ridings centre with Touchretail POS. Integration to the re-vamped Hype website is also on the agenda during 2012.
