Red Square started life in may of 1990 tucked away on the outskirts of Middlesbrough's town centre. Red Square relocated in 1995 to large, more central premises and in 2004 undertook the biggest shop refit to date for Red Square, extending the shop over two floors, and in the process doubled the floor space.

In August 2008 their quest for global domination started with the opening of a second shop in the sunny seaside town of Redcar stocking brands such as Nudie Jeans, Luke 1977, Original Penguin, K-Way and Fila Vintage amongst others.
