What is Farfetch?
Started in London in 2008 by Portuguese entrepreneur José Neves, Farfetch is the online platform for fashion. The company operates bespoke, local-language websites and mobile apps for international markets in English, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Korean, German, Russian and Spanish. Farfetch offices are located in 11 cities globally and the business employs over 1,500 staff.
Boutiques that choose to partner with Farfetch list their products on the global Farfetch portal to reach a worldwide audience. Purchases through the Farfetch platform are then processed and dispatched by the boutique selling the item.
Farfetch Stock Availability
For Farfetch to be successful, stock accuracy is paramount. For the boutique, a lot of work is required to keep Farfetch’s stock levels in line with instore availability and to avoid penalties from listing inaccurate figures.
Farfetch Stock Integration
To overcome this labour intensive process, Farfetch have developed an integration with the TRIMS stock management solution from Touchretail. Farfetch can now query boutique stock availability directly without any user intervention, and then adjust its own stock listings automatically. Not only is this a huge time saver for the boutique, it also helps Farfetch provide a better service knowing that the listed stock levels are accurate.
