Maze have provided an eclectic and refreshing mix of independent and leading edge brands for men and women in their stores in Bath and Bristol’s Clifton village. Maze at No. 18 is a sister store in Clifton village where homewares, gifts and fragrances are curated with fashion. More recently the Maze online offer has complemented their instore offer, and is a growing part of the business.

Maze needed a conversion without data loss and with minimum disruption

An important challenge was to switch systems without data loss

Real-time inventory information across the stores and online is crucial for Maze to maximize availability of their stock, especially where some key brands and collections sell out early in the season. Customer purchases history is also key for Maze, so they can tailor customer-specific promotions and incentives.

An important challenge was the ability for their new digital partner to be able to switch systems from their legacy system without data loss and with minimum disruption to their business and customers both instore and online.

Maze approved the data structure in advance of go-live

Touchretail created test data imports for products and customers from the Maze legacy system prior to go-live so that they could approve the data structure in advance of go-live. This helped to ensure that on go-live day all data was converted, including products, stock levels, customers, outstanding credit notes and gift vouchers, loyalty points balances, and a sales history import. On go-live day the Maze Shopify ecommerce was switched over from the legacy system to TRIMS Shopify Connector with no downtime of the Maze website.
