Constantly searching out new designers
Willow boutiques delightfully complement their elegant ladieswear collections with ranges of unusual and affordable jewellery and homewares. The Cheshire locations of historic Knutsford and leafy Hale enjoy a regular change in ranges offered. Most of the buying is done by owner Janice Hall and general manager Michelle Samsa, who are constantly searching out new designers and brands for their very selective clientele. Staple brands such as Marella, Armani Jeans and Sandwich sit alongside lesser seen designers such as Isabel de Pedro, Ilse Jacobsen, with the popular Scotch and Soda recently introduced.
Requirement and Challenges
After a previous career in banking, Janice is keen to analyse all aspects of the business, and to operate Willow on a sound infrastructure of plans, budgets and up-to-date reporting. As their business develops a fully integrated EPOS and inventory system was required to replace the manual spreadsheets and reports previously used by Janice.
With an ecommerce side to Willow planned for early 2016 the EPOS system had to be able to integrate multi-channel easily and without having to duplicate stock records.
The core ability of TRIMS to easily handle a wide range of products on the same system (including fashion, jewellery and homewares) makes it a perfect fit for Willow. The EPOS was initially set up to record Sales by Brand. As new stock arrived the products were created on TRIMS and barcodes produced so that Willow were able to manage the transition from Category control to Unit control seamlessly.
CRM (for Customer purchases data) and ecommerce integration can easily be added to the TRIMS framework when Willow are ready to extend this into their system.
